Welcome to BERTS CORNER!!

7-12-2011-Just got back from July Meeting-Trails are looking good despite heavy rains thanks to Bruce Morneault.  I just got done getting landowner permissions signed so we can continue riding the trails we have in the greater Fort Kent area.  In talking to the landowners, a few topics came up: 1. Please stay on marked trails 2. Drive at a reasonable rate of speed to keep the dust and noise down 3. Always watch out for and yield to farm equipment and trucks-these landowners are trying to earn a living and graciously allow us to ride on their land 4. Drive defensively and always be prepared to meet others on the trail hopefully riding at a reasonable rate of speed. 5. Respect the land and don't unnecessarily spin out and make ruts anywhere.

The access signs on Violette Settlement and Jacob Road have been posted.  The access route is mainly for the people of these areas to access the trails and not to take a shortcut so stay on main trail unless visiting someone in this area.

Meetings: 2011 Mark your calendars:  Always on Tuesday.  June 7, July 12, August 9, September 13, and October 4 at Lonesome Pine Ski Area at 6:30 PM

check the website or Bert's Corner for updates.  The new application for 2011 is already online thanks to Don Ouellette so feel free to start mailing them in.  The first newsletter will be included with an application hopefully arriving to your home soon.  We will be mailing out these to last year's membership so if you know anyone who has purchased an atv, let them know about getting a membership form at the website: www.valleyatvriders.com

Thanks for your support and ride safely and respect landowner's property, without them, we couldn't ride!

A BIG THANK YOU to all Landowners who allow us the privilege of riding on their land.

Tell anyone who wants to become a member that applications are available online at www.valleyatvriders.com   Display your Valley ATV Riders sticker on the front of your machine if possible and remind anyone who is not a member that belonging to a local club which is a member of ATV of Maine is necessary to ride on Irving land.

P.S.   Membership dues at $25 for single/$35 family-must be in same household-3 maximum/$10 for associate members ( an associate member is one who already belongs to another club but would like to support VATV Riders) .  Your membership is very important to us and to you-you cannot ride Irving land without proof of membership to an ATV club and an ATV of Maine sticker.     Bert

Some landowners let ATVers pass near their animals.
